The Karnataka coast is an underrated group destination and considerably quieter than Goa. Gokarna's temple town and beach sequence — Om, Kudle, Half Moon and Paradise — pairs with the 123-foot Shiva statue at Murudeshwar about 80 km north, and both sit on the same coastal highway.
At 480 km it is a proper haul from Bangalore, usually run via Davangere and Sirsi, or via Hubli on the faster highway. The Western Ghats descent through Sirsi is the more scenic option and passes close to the Jog Falls turnoff, which most groups add.
Force Urbania Rental for the Bangalore to Gokarna & Murudeshwar Route
A coastal Urbania rental is straightforward on the vehicle side — no serious ghat work unless you take the Sirsi route, which we recommend outbound for the scenery. Any variant in the Force Urbania hire fleet handles it. One practical limit: the van reaches Om Beach directly, but Half Moon and Paradise beaches have no road access at all and are reached by cliff trek or local boat, so the driver waits at Om Beach while your group covers those on foot.
About Gokarna & Murudeshwar
Gokarna is a Hindu pilgrimage town on the Karnataka coast, built around the Mahabaleshwar temple which houses the Atma Linga. South of the town a sequence of beaches runs along the headlands — Kudle, then the crescent of Om Beach named for its shape, then Half Moon and Paradise, each reachable only on foot or by boat. Eighty kilometres north at Murudeshwar stands the second-tallest Shiva statue in the world at 123 feet, on a headland beside a twenty-storey temple gopura with a lift to the top.
