Mysore is the natural gateway to Kodagu — at 120 km via Hunsur and Kushalnagar it is barely three hours, which makes it the shortest approach to Coorg from any of our hubs. Groups already in Mysore for heritage sightseeing routinely extend into Coorg on the same booking.

The road climbs gently through Kushalnagar before the Madikeri ghat section, and the internal estate roads around Abbey Falls are narrow. We recommend the 10+1 SWB for groups of eight or fewer; larger groups run the 12+1 comfortably on the main circuit.

About Coorg

Coorg, properly Kodagu, is a hill district of the Western Ghats known for coffee, cardamom and the martial Kodava community. Madikeri is its main town, with Raja's Seat looking west over ridge after ridge at sunset and the Madikeri fort and Omkareshwara temple in the centre. Abbey Falls drops through a coffee estate a few kilometres out. Talacauvery, at the source of the Cauvery, and Bhagamandala, where three rivers meet, sit higher up. Dubare on the river runs a working elephant camp.
