Biligiriranga — BR Hills — is the quieter wildlife option 90 km from Mysore, where the Western and Eastern Ghats meet at the BRT Tiger Reserve. It draws far fewer visitors than Bandipur or Kabini, which is exactly its appeal for groups wanting a low-key overnight rather than a busy safari circuit.
As with all our wildlife bookings, the Urbania handles transfers only: game drives inside the reserve run in forest-department vehicles booked through the department or your lodge. The van climbs to the hilltop Rangaswamy temple, waits at the safari reception, and covers the run out to the K. Gudi and Yelandur side.
Force Urbania Rental for the Mysore to BR Hills Route
A BR Hills Force Urbania rental follows the same rule as every wildlife booking we run: the van takes you to the reserve, never into it. Game drives inside the BRT reserve are forest-department jeeps and canters booked through your lodge. Our Mysore Urbania hire covers the transfers, the climb to the hilltop temple and the run to the K. Gudi side, and waits at the safari reception. The plateau road is manageable for all variants; book the van rental on group size.
About BR Hills
Biligiriranga — BR Hills — is the range where the Western and Eastern Ghats meet, protected as the BRT Tiger Reserve and named for the white-rock hill crowned by the Biligiri Rangaswamy Swamy temple at 1,600 metres. It is quieter and higher than Bandipur or Kabini, a mosaic of coffee, sandalwood and deciduous forest that holds tiger, elephant, gaur and dhole. The reserve is the traditional homeland of the Soliga people, among the first tribal communities in India granted forest rights inside a tiger reserve.
